The Green Industry Report uses AI tools in its research and writing. This page says where, and what rules apply.
Where AI tools help
- Research. Finding primary sources such as agency tables, statutes, licensing board pages and manufacturer specifications, and reading them to pull out the relevant figures and rules.
- Drafting. Producing first drafts of articles, tables and methodology notes from the sourced material.
- Checking. Comparing drafts against their sources, scanning for unsupported claims, broken links and banned phrasing, and recomputing arithmetic.
Rules that apply to everything we publish
- Every number is traced to a primary source and checked against that source before publication. A number we can’t trace gets cut.
- Charts are drawn by code from the cited data, not generated as images.
- Any illustration is labelled as an illustration.
- We don’t publish AI-generated images of people presented as real people, and we don’t invent staff, customers, quotes or testimonials.
- Pages describe what was actually done. We don’t claim fieldwork, testing or site visits.
Who is responsible
The Green Industry Report Editorial Team is responsible for everything published on the site, whichever tools helped produce it. An error made with an AI tool is our error, handled under our corrections policy.
Our sourcing rules are in the editorial standards, and the way specific numbers are built is in our methodology. If you spot something wrong, write to editorial@greenindustryreport.com.
