This directory lists landscaping businesses that hold a state license, taken from records published by state licensing agencies. Each listing shows the business name, license number, license type, status, city and ZIP, the agency that issued the license, and the date we retrieved the record.
Where the listings come from
Only from state license records. Businesses can’t submit themselves or pay to be added. That means the directory covers only states whose agencies license landscaping work and publish their records; many states license landscaping at the local level or not at all (see license requirements by state). Street addresses are not shown.
What “license active” means
A listing marked active means the agency’s record showed an active status (the agency’s own term may be “Active”, “Clear” or similar) on the retrieval date shown. Licenses can lapse, be suspended or change after that date. We left out records that read “Active” but whose expiration date had already passed when we retrieved them.
We don’t verify insurance, bonding, complaint history or quality of work. Before you hire, confirm the license on the agency’s own site; our guide on how to check a landscaper license shows how, and asks the questions a license record can’t answer.
Featured placements
In future, listed businesses may be able to buy a placement labelled “Featured”. It will never change license data, status or the editorial order of the regular listings.
Spot a listing that doesn’t match the agency’s record? Email editorial@greenindustryreport.com with the subject line “Directory: [state] [license number]”. The full method is on our methodology page.
Directory listings are general information drawn from public records, not a recommendation of any business.
