We correct errors openly. If a number, rule, link or license detail on this site is wrong, we want to know.
How to report an error
Email editorial@greenindustryreport.com with the subject line “Correction: [page title]”. Include:
- The page URL
- The statement or figure you think is wrong
- The correct information and, if you have it, a link to the primary source that shows it (an agency table, statute, license record or manufacturer document)
What happens next
We aim to review every report within five business days. We check the claim against the primary source. If the page is wrong, we fix it. If the page is right, we reply and explain which source it relies on.
How corrections appear
A correction is noted at the end of the page with the date and what changed, for example: “Correction, [date]: An earlier version of this page gave [the incorrect statement]. It now gives [the corrected statement], per [primary source].” We don’t silently change figures.
Two kinds of change are not corrections. A routine update to a newer data release (for example, a new year of BLS wage data) changes the page’s Updated date and the data dates in the text. Fixing a typo or broken formatting that doesn’t change meaning is done without a note.
License directory listings
Directory listings are copied from state license records. If our listing differs from the agency’s current record, tell us and include the license number; we’ll check it against the agency. If the agency’s own record is wrong, only the agency can change it, and our listing will follow the agency’s record once we retrieve it again. See our methodology for how the directory is built.
Sponsors and corrections
Payment doesn’t buy a correction, and a correction request doesn’t need to come from a customer. The same review applies to everyone. Our editorial standards cover the rest.
